From the stage to the console

David was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He fell in love with theatre in 8th grade, performing on stage for years before deciding he wanted to switch to lighting.

He received a Bachelor’s degree from York College of PA and with a focus on Theatre. After being in numerous shows, including The King and I, Dog Sees God, Pirates of Penzance, James Franco and Me, Mary Poppins, Seussical, and more, he decided it was no longer what he wanted. Learning lines and being in front of a large crowd became more daunting than it was a dream job. In senior year, he discovered the beauty of lighting, and hasn’t looked back. Maybe one day he’ll make his return to the stage for the right role, but for now, he’s more than happy behind his EOS TI.

The job of the lighting designer is being able to completely transform a show from a work-light wash to an audience-immersing experience. Being able to pull the viewer into the performance and make them feel like they’re actually part of the story that they’re watching is a magical thing.

He now designs for Scary Good Productions as a principal lighting designer and electrician, and Production Operations Manager. In addition to 4Wall and Scary Good, his hobbies include working on his car, film/tv, golf, and steam locomotives.
